Problem Solving, Einstein’s Way

We cannot solve our problems using the same thinking we used when we created them ~ Albert Einstein

Compulsory Education, Anyone??

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child’s natural bent. ~ Plato

“Education Is Not the Filling of a Pail, But the Lighting of a Fire”

-William Butler Yeats

One of the first quotes on education to inspire me, Education is not the filling of a bucket but the lighting of a fire, has often been attributed to William Bulter Yeats, one of my favorite poets. Apparently there is some controversy over who actually said this, but the truth contained in the quote is undeniable. Education should light them up, not just fill them up with facts.
